I'm clueless about the Axiom settings and keep the DM5's settings basic. Then USB midi-out from Axiom into my macbook? I've tried running that configuration and turning on 'midi out from usb' with no luck. pads->DM5>midi-out->Midi-USB-converter cable->computer into whatever software I'm running.Couldn't I run a cable from DM5 midi-out to Axiom61 Midi-In. So I was wondering maybe, as sort of a 'work-around' to be able to trigger AD or Ezdrummer with my edrums.Instead of connecting it. I'm low on cash these days and can't replace the usb-midi converter anytime soon. Straight USB connection from Axiom to computer works fine. I've used MidiMonitor and shows no input at all. But lately, I can't get a sound out of anything using the midi to usb cable. I don't really mess with the settings, just plug it in and it plays. I have no problem using my Axiom playing software instruments in Garageband, iggering EZdrums, AddictiveDrums etc. But this time I'm not having any luck getting anything work.

It's been months since I've been able to hook everything up again. I used an inexpensive midi-to-usb converter cable to connect the DM5 to my macbook, and trigger EzDrums or AddictiveDrums. I have an Alesis DM5 that I like to trigger with a basic edrum kit I have. I just bought a 1st gen Axiom61 and am not an experienced midi user at all.I know just the basics etc.
